Random question that I can’t seem to find an answer to… Callisto Protocol is banned over here so I planned on downloading it over a VPN for PS5. Does anyone know if I have to maintain that VPN anytime I play it or if I just need it to purchase the game? Thanks!

The PS store doesn’t work like that. Even if you use a VPN the store will remain the same as the region for your account. What you need to do is create a new account for another region like the US and buy it on there. No need for VPNs or anything like that. After you start downloading it you can switch back to your Japanese account and play it there fine.
How can a game be too gory for Japan… Now I’m curious
No need to put a VPN, just set up an account in another region. Check the options you have to put money there, a simple japanese credit cart will not be good.
Being banned is not like a criminal thing, it just means that it didn’t get cleared for japanese version sale in shops in Japan. You can totally buy it online in other places, import, and some copies might even arrive in Trader’s Chaos in Akihabara.
I regularly use Amazon UK to buy playstation network credit for that region. They send the code by email.
MORTAL KOMBAT
Yep my main account is my UK one and I can see it available to preorder there. So your US one should be fine.
I’m planning on picking up a disc copy when I visit the UK at Christmas. Wonder if I can sell it in Japan once I’ve finished with the disc?
Movies like Audition or Coldfish are fine but draw the line at 3D polygons.
