how do we know if it’s polite enough if we don’t know who you’re talking to?
other thing is テキス isn’t a phrase i’ve heard, i would suggest 答える or 返事する for “reply”
i would say like 早く答えられなくてごめんね / 早く返事が出来なくてごめんね
but if it’s someone you don’t know well, then yeah すみません or whatever. (すいません or すんません or however you write it would be a casual-er dialect form but the ‘masen’ form is still a bit formal)
Usually Japanese people say to me something like 返事が遅くなってごめんなさい！
