It seems there has been a development on this front. Based on information I received from Joel Breckenridge, who has done a great job to research this, charging your mobile pasmo/Suica is now possible using certain foreign visa credit cards. Unfortunately, mine do not work yet, but he suspects it’s a matter of time before they are all back up and running. Crossing my fingers and checking every couple of hours.
See here for an updated list and feel free to respond if your foreign Visa credit card is now able to charge your cards.

Good to know they’re working on it. I just tried mine and it’s not working yet …but fingers crossed.
My Visa cards (issued from Taiwan) still doesn’t work but appreciate the update! Thankfully I have a Mastercard but I hope this issue gets resolved soon.
Is there a reason so many people seem to use their CC to charge up suica instead of cash?
Points are the only reason I can think of.
