  1. More people = More risk of infections, clearly.
It’s just a matter of how the government reacts to it and what that professor is saying is completely reasonable.

  2. By this logic, Japan citizens traveling abroad can bring back the same new strains from their travels….

  3. But surely a new more dangerous variant (if that’s what he’s truly worried about here and there isn’t a deeper meaning behind this) could be formed in Japan. Why is he talking about a new deadly strain forming overseas, it can form anywhere. The problem is, is how long does everyone keep being scared to live?

And equally should he not be concerned that maybe it won’t be a foreigner that brings it in, look at your own countries people who are allowed to go galavanting across the world and return with no testing requirements.

  4. I don’t think the newspaper read its own article. That’s not quite what he said.

  5. more people=possibility of higher infection numbers. can’t explain that, just like the tide.

  6. Yah. Apparently the new strain just avoids the Japanese people abroad and only comes from Gainjin.

  7. i already knew japantravel was going to add this unbelievably bad article to their pinned page

  8. Pretty sure any new strains will get in anyway. This is just fear mongering
