Japans second goal amounted to luck more than skill. In that sense,even as an ardant supporter of Japan I dont think we should be overly optimistic about this show.
Spain played smart. They didnt have to win, didnt get any of their players ejected for the next game, and are now in a decidely weaker side of the knock stage.
If anyone thinks Japan beat a Spanish team giving their all, they might want to temper their expectations a bit.
Still that being said, it was a good show from Japan.

I woke up and watched ~15 minutes from 20-35. Saw the possession being totally dominated and decided I needed the sleep. Now I’m sad I missed it. What a win!
