So I am trying to get my first IT job in Japan.I need some advice from people who work in IT in Japan, transitioned into IT work in Japan, had their first IT job in Japan, or know anything/advice related to the topic.
Currently am an ALT and I am being asked to re-contract for another year and to let them know by the end of the year 2022. I don’t have any IT work experience. I do have CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+. So hopefully that helps. If I don’t re-contract, I will have until July 2023 to find a new job and a new place to live. If I do re-contract, I will have until some time in 2024. I want to live in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka etc (but I am realistic and not picky, willing to go to any city)My next step between now and July 2023 is getting AWS Cloud Practioner and Solutions Architect. I have taken an interest in AWS and heard that getting a job is not too bad. (not interested in programming right now)
Now for my questions. Is getting an AWS job at this time possible? (because of all the layoffs happening) Will the layoffs affect Japan AWS jobs?
Should I aim for an AWS job or instead an entry-level help desk job in Japan?
What would be the best IT entry job for Americans in Japan?
What kind of AWS jobs are available to Americans living in Japan?
I hear that with Security+, Americans can work in entry-level security jobs in US bases in Japan. Is that true? even though I am not military?
Which city is the best to move to and has the highest chance of getting an entry IT job?
My current job is chill so I study for my IT exams at work, should I just continue getting certs and extending my ALT job? Which certs would be good to get next or what can I do to get IT experience?
Since I already have A+, N+, and S+, should I just start applying for IT jobs in Japan now instead of waiting until after getting the AWS certs (cloud practitioner and solutions architect)?
**If you were in my shoes what would you do to escape ALT work and get that first IT job in Japan?**
Lastly, the important question is whether it is possible to even get my first IT job within the span of 6-7 months from now in Japan. I don’t want to decline my ALT re-contract and then be left homeless with no job lol.
Am I worrying too much?
Any advice would be welcomed thank you

Some questions.
What does your resume look like?
What do you want to do? It seems like you’re just collecting certifications. Is there a field you’re interested in?
How’s your Japanese?
Also don’t get both cloud practictioner and solutions architect. Skip cloud practictioner
Have you even applied for any jobs yet or are you just collecting certificates for the sake of it?
