Looks tasty, but that isn’t chirashi. That is sashimi with a scoop of rice on the side 😅
This is often a little misunderstood by American-Japanese restaurants. Chirashi is a category of dish. Typically it’s a bunch of fish either chopped or sliced laid on top of heavily vinegared rice, sometimes with furikake. Usually people eat it by mixing the whole thing up after pouring soy sauce over it. Sometimes it comes mixed.

That’s definitely not chirashi. Sashimi and rice on the side
It looks delicious, but what’s up with all the lemon? Is that actually suppose to be eaten?
Hmm… looks good. But Sashimi…
What is the yellow stuff on top of the rice?
Looks good, but that’s not chiradhi. It’s basically sashimi over sushi rice
If I could just eat this from now until the end of time, existence would be perfect.
