Just like the title says, I need some help with the timing of moving things.
I recently a message that I’m allowed to live in an apartment in Fukuoka and need to decide a move in date. Im currently living in Tokyo. My move-out date in Tokyo is Dec 17.
I have till Monday to decide my move-in date in Fukuoka.
I think it’s best
1. have a moving company take my things friday (3 luggage set, 2-3 boxes, futon/bed/mattress set)
2. check out of my Tokyo apartment on Saturday (no idea what time is that though)
3. Go to Fukuoka (by plane or Shinkansen) on same out check day (Saturday)
4. Arrive in Fukuoka and move-in that Saturday
5. Have the moving company delivery my things Sunday
But I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions of this time layout. Any suggestions and tips would be great!
* I would also like to say thank you so much for all the times this community has helped and encouraged me in my other posts. *

This is going to be hard. Really hard. First you’re going to need a LOT of drones. Probably trillions of them, if not quadrillions. Then you’re going to need to drill down through Tokyo to get to the bedrock, I don’t know how far down that is, but when you get there you’re going to need to anchor to it. You’ll probably need at least 10,000 anchor points to be sure the city stays in one piece. Maybe 100,000 to be safe. You’re also going to need to cut around underneath all the bedrock to get the city free, but I’ll leave that as an exercise for you to do. Now you’re going to need to build a giant mesh of cables between all these anchor points. when you’re done with that, attach your quadrillion drones along the *outside perimeter* of the city. If you have them in the middle they’re going to be useless, they have to be outside of the perimeter in order to get any lift. When you’ve done all this, tell the drones to take off and if all goes well you’ll be able to move Tokyo to Fukuoka in about 30-40 hours. Now we get into how to charge quadrillions of drones en-route, but I’ll save that for later.
My thoughts:
-If you have yet to arrange a moving company, get on that fast. You are less than two weeks out and want to move on a weekend. While this isn’t peak moving season, I suspect you will either a)be paying **a lot** or b)moving on a weekday. (and possibly both of these.)
I would set your move-in date to the day you leave Tokyo or even the day before.
Also if you haven’t yet submitted your moving in/out notices to utilities, you should do that ASAP as well. Internet too if you are planning to have that set-up.
Be sure to check when you can get the key for the apartment. When I moved from Kagoshima to Shizuoka, I had to stay at a hotel for 1 night because the estate agent was closed on the day I arrived. Same as you, I arranged to have my belongings delivered the next day. Best check with the moving company if they can do that or not, just in case.
Also, don’t forget to bring/buy 1 roll of TP. In my experience, some places provide a new roll when you move in, but i’m not sure if every place does it.
