Is the way I’m learning Japanese okay?

I found a YouTube video ([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuI4OgsJv\_Q&t=2440s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuI4OgsJv_Q&t=2440s)) that has 800 N5 level words spoken by a Japanese speaker, and basically what I’ve done is put the words into Anki in 8 sets of 100 words. I’ve learned around 200 words this way so far, but I’m not sure if this is a good way to continue learning Japanese or not. I tried learning Kanji at first but I didn’t have any media or books to apply the things I was learning, whereas with the words I often hear them in music and anime. Any suggestions to improve how I’m learning or is it fine as it is?

  1. Grammar, this is where a lot of beginners trip up. Learn the Kana and then start learning grammar. Word will never turn into knowing sentences without grammar. Textbooks, bunpro, and if you can’t spend money Tae Kim are all grammar options.
