RResidents in Japan

What would happen if I am not in Japan when I get a PR status notification?

I will be out of Japan for a couple of months and I am not sure what will happen If I get a PR status notification and I don’t respond for 2 months.

Has anybody experienced a similar situation?

FYI: I cannot cancel or postpone travel plans.

    What about changes in Visa? I am changing visa, but there is a real chance the answer won’t come before I leave the country until I come back in February.
