JLPT. How did it go?

N2.
Listening and grammar was easier than expected. I filled in my scantron wrong for listening so I had to fix that while listening to the audio. That was a mess. Kanji section was harder than I expected. I wouldn’t be surprised if I fail the n2 bc of this section.

Thoughts?

  1. I took the N4 but I think I made the exact same mistake as you in the listening section – I filled in a bubble for the Rei question, and then had to scramble to shift everything up a row once I realized it. Definitely cost me a couple questions in the listening section. Oh well.

Aside from that I thought it went decent. Either way my score will be a big surprise when it arrives.

  2. I took the N1 and don’t feel very confident about passing. I hadn’t seen most of the words on the vocabulary section before which surprised me, but I’ve never really looked at a list of N1 vocabulary before so I don’t know if they were necessarily difficult or unexpected, just that I hadn’t come across them in my immersion yet. I struggled with the listening too, but I knew going in my listening was weak.

Reading was fine for the most part, although I ran out of time for one section and had to guess. I thought the grammar was surprisingly easy so hopefully that’ll help carry me.

This was my first time taking the test so I can’t compare it to previous tests or the earlier levels unfortunately
