Hi, Ive been learning Japanese for a while now. I love shodo (Japanese Calligraphy) so I want to write those New Years Cards that Japanese write with brushes. On the side it usually says something like ‘新年、明けまして’ but I don’t know what to write as the message. I don’t want to scare anybody but she is a pretty casual, not so strict teacher and she is always laughing etc. having fun teaching us. So yeah, what are things I can add?

You could write just that and thank her for making it fun to learn with.
