Asking about washing machine dryer

Hello guys. I recently just bought a second-hand washing machine with a dryer. It’s the front load Toshiba VX-8500R (same thing like VX-8500L). I tried to use the washing machine using the おまかせ settings with complete course from Washing machine to Drying. But after I wait for a few hours, I noticed that the dryer was stuck in certain number with the ”見直し中” (“Under review”) sign blinking.

Long story short, it doesn’t decrease at all and I noticed that the air that was blowing doesn’t have any heat at all. Is this how the dryer in this washing machine suppose to work or is there any settings that I did wrong? Or is it because of the low temperature that it took really long to dry the clothes? Anyone have any experience with this?

I can’t read and write Japanese really well so I can’t find any solution on google right now. But what I already did is clean the filters, including the one inside the washing machine.

Thankyou 🙂

  1. Did you overload it? Washing is 10 kg limit, drying is 6 kg, so if you want to have it do washing plus drying, keep it to a maximum of 6

Use Google translate camera function to translate the manual

  2. Washer/dryer combos are notoriously high maintenance. We always get an extended warranty on ours because something goes wrong two or three times a year, on average. We just put in a service call on ours yesterday for the same problem you’re having, no heat from the dryer.

  3. They don’t dry many clothes at a time – mine often shows an error message but ploughs on regardless (not a Toshiba though).

  4. Take a picture of the error message, and a photo of the washing machine model number.

We had some problems with our washing machine earlier this year. It turns out that the filter on the drain was plugged-up with lint and preventing the washing machine from correctly finishing the spin/drain cycle.

There is a filter on the drain where the drain hose goes into the floor.
