I have several old suits in my cupboard which I don’t need any more.
They’re all tailored suits (made to measure, not full bespoke), which appears to limit my choices significantly. However, I’m a pretty normal size and shape especially in Japan (176cm, 60kg), and don’t have particularly long or short arms or legs. They’re all good quality wool suits in a variety of traditional styles, which I’d like to find a home for. I’m sure someone out there would really like them.
The priority is not making money, though I’d rather sell them for a small amount than just give them away. They were around Â¥100,000 each when new, and all are in good condition. Some have only been worn a few times.
I guess Mercari is an option, but I’ve never used it and have heard some bad stories. Selling to one of these nice second hand shops you occasionally see which deal with more traditional/formal fashion would be preferable, but I’m not sure how to go about that. I figured the sages on here would be the best people to consult.
Thanks in advance!

Believe it or not this subject has come up before. Recently even.

The results were, well, not awe inspiring.
The Salvation Army will take them. There are also a bunch of clothing drop off boxes by kuminkans and such where you can drop them off.
off-house?
[Homedoor](https://www.homedoor.org/) is an NPO focused on homelessness. I donated a bunch of men’s winter clothes to them recently and they took a few blazers. They said the people they help need them for job interviews, so I imagine they’d take them if you’re just going to give them away.
