inkjet refills

Is there any company in Japan that does inkjet refills on original cartridges?

  1. What I do is buy a slightly older printer and then buy knockoff refills on Amazon. For example, Canon ink is about ¥7,000 for a set of 6 colors, while the knockoffs are around ¥2,000.

You can’t buy the newest model because the knockoffs haven’t come out yet.

Canon changes the chip every time they release a new model/series, so even though the cartridges are exactly the same shape and size, your old cartridges will be rejected by the new machine.

  2. Not heard of it.

You can buy chip resetter on Amazon and sometimes on Daiso, but you have to check if they are compatible.

What I did is bought the Epson EcoTank so I never have to deal with this IC chip bs.

  3. You can buy those ink/eco tank printers that take ink in bottles instead of chipped cartridges, the knockoff refills for it are cheap. I have EW-M752T but I buy genuine epson refills anyway, but amazon has the knockoffs for significantly less.
