Learn Kanji meanings / vocab with Kanji

Hello, I suppose Kanji is a well-discussed topic here, but I wouldn’t want to lose precious time, so I want to ask specifically.

I finished all the Kanji radicals as I heard they will help me with further Kanji study, but now as I look more into it, I hear about how to avoid learning the Kanji readings and learn simply vocab and just remember that the kanji was there.

I also heard that it helps to learn the Kanji just with their meaning, but it sounds silly to me as I won’t learn the sound. Now as I am thinking about it, it will probably be silly to learm words written by characters I’ve never seen before anyway.

So how would you recommend me to approach Kanji?
