When addressing a Japanese envelope, is the receiver’s name last name, first name or first name, last name?

Wondering because I’m sending a letter to someone in Japan and I don’t want to do it incorrectly. It’s a fan letter so since she’s a celebrity I don’t want to be rude. So which format do I use? Last name, first name, or first name, last name?

  1. Shouldn’t matter.

Usually it’s most broad to specific.

    Japan

    123-4567 Prefecture

City, neighborhood, block 8 house 9

    Apartment Building Name room 123

    Family name Given name

  2. Doesn’t matter. You can even write it the same as you would in English and it’ll arrive fine. When my family sends me mail they just write my address the American way and it gets here fine

  3. A convention here is to write the family name all in capitals when writing in English. Makes it very easy to tell. John DOE. Maybe give that a go if in English
