Hibachi ginger dipping sauce at Japanese market?

Hi all! I love the ginger sauce (not the salad dressing, but the dipping sauce) they give you at hibachi for dipping steak or whatever you get in. I’ve never been to a bennihana or chain hibachi, just individual ones, but I love the sauce. I’ve tried following recipes online, but when I make it, it always tastes too different. I recently moved to Austin from a small town in MA, so I have way more options and there’s a couple japanese markets in the area. Does anyone know what I’m talking about and what I should/could look for?

One of the Japanese market’s has an “order online” feature and [this is their sauce selection](https://imgur.com/a/AANAvSJ), if any of those look like what I should be looking for. Thanks in advance I appreciate it!

  1. I don’t know if you can find it but here if FL we got a brand called Makoto that they sell in grocery stores they make a few different flavor ginger hibachi sauces and yum yum sauce.

  2. You need to go with the ones that say yakiniku. Everything else will be entirely something else. Not sure which one is better though.

  3. I don’t quite know what hibachi ginger sauce is. However in your list, guzai shoga (ginger) yaki sauce might be what you want

  4. “Hibachi” and “bennihana” restaurants aren’t japanese, so you might struggle to find something actually from Japan that matches what you’re looking for.
