Anyone here not get a position at a school despite being approved by a dispatch company?

As the title asks, I wanna know if any of you passed all your interviews, got an A* for everything, got an approved application but later not get a guaranteed position at a school.

Are 99% of approved people gonna get guaranteed positions?

Would love to hear your stories.

  1. Depends on the company.

Somewhere like Interac, pretty much guaranteed they’ll find somewhere to put you.

The company I work for now, on the other hand, is very small, and each candidate has to pass both the company’s interview and the school’s interview. So if the school doesn’t like you then you’re out of luck. My school rejected three candidates for my maternity leave position.

  2. Don’t take anything as “guaranteed” until you have a contract.

Not even then, in some cases. These dispatch companies are sketchy as all hell.

  3. I was approved and was hired and asked to come sign a contract but when I arrived there the position I applied for was given to another person and I was given the part time contract. I should’ve complained that I was duped but I didn’t. Got full time after a year. Then a raise a year after.

  4. Tons. Usually happens when the dispatch company loses out on local contact with school/boe and/or an expected renewal doesn’t go through.

  5. They send your resume with the obligatory picture to the school of people whose english teachers barely speak english. They’re looking at two things – your certifications (if they give a fuck) and your face…
And the dispatches tell everyone your getting it so they wont lose your interest but they send several peoples resumes to the schools
