Hey all! Going home for Christmas and I want to bring my parents a nice gift: a beautiful santoku knife. I’ve googled a bit but so far haven’t found many stores in Osaka. My budget is (approximately) between 8000 and 10.000 – any recommendations on where to get one in Osaka?

Try Tower Knives Osaka, at Tsutenkaku. Went there before and got a white no.2 Bunka
A second for Tower Knives in the Tsutenkaku area. Also, Jikko Cutlery (main store in Sakai, satellite stores in Umeda and Namba) is great, but maybe a little higher budget than what you’re looking for.
Also while you’re at it, if your parents don’t know the basics of using and caring for a high carbon steel knife, please tell them so that it doesn’t get chipped descending furiously upon a chicken thigh
