Newbie to Disney Land & Sea – Any Advice?

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster, etc. etc. So I’ll be heading down to Disney Land & Disney Sea with the wife & kid next week (one on each day) and I was wondering if you have any advice to make the experience smoother & more enjoyable. I know there’s an app with wait times and whatnot, which we’ve all downloaded, but beyond that what’s the best way to make sure we can get to rides? What’s the “Fast Pass” thing? Anything you could tell me will be helpful. Incidentally we’ll be staying at the Mira Costa for the duration of the trip so getting to and from the parks should be a breeze.

  1. How long is your stay?

Did you get a Vacation Package or just a hotel stay?

Which days do you have planned for TDL and TDS?

Have you been to other Disney parks overseas?

Are people in your group able to ride any attraction?

Are you also interested in shows, parades, etc.?

  2. Id suggest you watch a youtuber called tdr explorer, he should be able to answer any questions about fastpass etc. really helpful for planning trips

  3. Tokyo Disney Land & Sea website has all the information you’re asking on a nice english website.

    Internet is beautiful.

  4. My advices are: FastPass, FastPass and FastPass.

Basically what Fastpass does is it will let you into a shorter queue and cut majority of the people. But to get into that shorter queue, you need the fastpass and there is a specific time written on it. You can pick up fast pass for any ride at the main entrance of the ride. You can only pick up one at a time.

Trick is Get one immediately when you arrive at the park for one the big rides and go check out the smaller rides while waiting for your fast pass queue. The repeat.
