Best choices for a student exchange as a commerce/business student?

I’m planning to do an exchange to Japan through my university in Canada, and I’ve been looking at my options in Tokyo. I’m in a commerce program under a liberal arts faculty and after looking at courses (in English) at various Tokyo universities, I’ve narrowed down which schools seem to be the best and would like some feedback on these options. My idea for this exchange is to mainly focus on exploring the area, socializing, learning the language, etc.

For academics, I’m mostly trying to get as many courses as possible to apply to my degree and still meet the minimum requirements for the visa to stay for 2 semesters. It’s just a bit odd since my university is based on 3/6/9 credit courses compared to Japan’s usually 2 credit courses so I’ll have to talk to my faculty about how that works after applying. My degree is specifically in MIS, but it’s pretty general so I’ll be looking to learn skills on my own and get some certifications anyway. Because of this I don’t really care much about a school’s academic quality or rigour.

My program is specialized so it doesn’t have that many elective options, but I still have 15 credits worth of electives left (5 courses), two commerce based electives, and some unfulfilled required courses such as financial accounting and finance. Depending on how credits transfer over I may get to take more courses. I also have some remaining credits for gen eds, but for now I’ll assume I won’t be able to do them in Japan since an exchange coordinator said the school is usually reluctant about allowing that.

So far, I’ve mainly looked at Waseda, Sophia, Meiji, Hosei, Keio, and Hito. I’m leaning towards the first four. My only real problem with Keio and Hito is that the course options towards my degree are more limited in comparison to the other two, Hito itself just has a small amount of available courses and most potential equivalents at Keio fall under graduate studies. Though this may be irrelevant depending on the gen eds and how credits transfer over.

Any thoughts on this? My application allows for only three choices so I’d like any feedback from people that are familiar with some of these schools.

Edit: forgot to mention Hosei
