I joined a conversation group a bit ago and have been going a bit more frequently. Last week we decided that one of our openers should be stories of making some childhood friends. I have since learned the word “osananajimi,” and a bit of its cultural baggage (a friend you’ve have since before you remember being friends).
Obviously, there is no hard and fast rules to this, but other than family I have no one I don’t remember meeting. Even my best bud, I remember it despite it happening over 20 years ago and not even being school age yet. My other best friend, I was maybe 7, but I remember meeting him, not just because we’re friends for life but because I had a massive allergic reaction (hard to forget those things lol).
Am I thinking too deeply about this or should I stray away from using this fun new vocab word?
