Dependent Visa to Work Visa?

Hi! I have one question about the Visa situation. Can someone with a Dependent Visa (spouse to a foreigner who has a Work Visa) get a Work Visa even without a bachelor degree? I know that usually you can’t get a Work Visa if you don’t have a degree, but what if you already have a Dependent Visa?

  1. You would need to qualify for the work visa, so unless you already have something like 10 years of documented and paid work experience in the relevant field of expertise, probably not.

As a dependent, you can work, but with limited hours.

  2. You can request permission from immigration to engage in activities outside the scope of your status of residence. This would allow you to work for up to 28 hours per week.

If you wanted to request a change of your status of residence to one that allows you to work full time, you would need to meet immigrations minimum requirements for that status of residence. This usually requires around 10 years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree.
