You could join sayonara sales or mottainai groups on Facebook. Things tend to be cheaper/free there, especially during moving season. You might have tk arrange for your own delivery though.
How about something like ジモティー or メルカリ? It may be tough if you can’t speak Japanese to some extent.

Affordable furniture in Japan means Nitori or Ikea. For appliances check out deals at places like Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, and Yamada Denki.
You’re local city office might have a recycle plaza, usually next to the non-burnable dump centre. You might need you’re own transport, although I hear some provide a k-truck.
