* 13 DEC: Arrive in Haneda in the morning, Akihabara
* 14 DEC: Akihabara, Sensouji temple
* 15 DEC: Nakano Broadway, various anime pilgrimage locations within Tokyo
* 16 DEC: Shibuya (Sky, Parco/Nintendo store, Pokemon centre), Meiji shrine
**Saitama**
* 17 DEC: Washinomiya shrine, Chichibu bridge, Wako city (anime pilgrimage)
**Kanagawa**
* 18 DEC: Yokohama (Gundam base/factory, Cup noodles museum)
* 19 DEC: Kamakura, Enoshima Aquarium
**Osaka**
* 20 DEC: USJ
* 21 DEC: Den Den town, castle, Minami
**Nara**
* 22 DEC: Todaiji temple, Kasuga shrine, Nara park
**Kyoto**
* 23 DEC: Kiyomizudera temple, Higashiyama, Ginkakuji, Pokemon center, Gundam base

**Nagano**
* 6 JAN: Kiso Valley, Yamanouchi (monkey park)
**Gifu**
* 7 JAN: Shirakawa-go and Gokayama
* 8 JAN: Takayama
**Kanazawa**
* 9 JAN: Kenrokuen garden, nearby museums
**Tokyo**
* 10 JAN: Back from Kanazawa, rest
* 11 JAN: DisneySea
**Hakone**
* 12 JAN: Hot springs
**Tokyo**
* 13 JAN: Ikebukuro (Pokemon center), Harajuku, Shinjuku, Ginza
* 14 JAN: Visit Akihabara for the last time, evening flight from Haneda
Some points:
* The above itinerary is tentative and will change as I travel around
* Routings around Kansai area will look odd due to pre-purchasing ticket for USJ (20 DEC; cannot change the date)
* I wasn’t able to get tickets for Ghibli museum/park
* I wasn’t able to buy Japan Rail Pass on time
* I have purposefully left out the northern part of Japan (Tohoku/Hokkaido etc) as I would like to visit them for my next trip in December 2023
* Same with some of the western part of Japan (Kyushu, Shikoku etc)

I do not understand why return to Tokyo then do Kanazawa, Nagano, etc. For me it would make more sense to do it on the way back to Tokyo.
Never too late for JR pass, if it is worth the price, you can buy online direct from JR and you do not receive an exchange voucher.
