I agree, atatakai, especially past tense is such a tongue twister.
You can finally say “it’s warm and please.” ?
“I finally said gibberish without stumbling!”
And it took you a couple of years to find out that the right phrase is 温めてください or 温めお願いします
I used to always mess up かわいい since I originally learned it through online forums long before learning Japanese. For the longest time it sounded like I was saying 怖い
め be like:
AM I A JOKE TO YOU?
When I first came to Japan I couldn’t remember the correct phrase either but I could remember what the staff would ask me. So if they didn’t say anything I’d say “温めますか” 🤷
not sure if you’re talking about saying this at konbinis, but usually we ask 温めますか？, depending on the item and time of day.
