Yamete in an intimate context

I’ve been studying Japanese for a couple years and I know ‘yamete’ to mean ‘stop it’. I recently started seeing a girl from Nagano. During intercourse, she yelled ‘yamete’ so I stopped and checked in with her. She told me that spoken by a woman in a sexual context ‘yamete’ means ‘feels great, keep going!’ This inversion is bizarre to me, but I don’t see why she’d make that up. Can anyone confirm that this is true / provide an explanation?
