Sending belongings back to your home country

I’ve been trying to send a handful of medium sized boxes and 2 computers back to my home in America. No furniture or anything very big. I’ve had some varying responses from companies about pricing and how they do it. I was wondering if anyone had decent, smooth workings with any company able to ship overseas?

  1. I sent my stuff by boat before I ended up moving back to Japan, it takes about 3 months. Surprisingly I barely put protection for most of the items(was in a huge hurry to get out of my apartment on time) and nothing got damaged.

  2. I do. Do you have the dimensions and weights of each package? Pm me we can discuss it some more.

  3. Before shipping, look into airline baggage limits, overweight charges and extra bag charges. You can check in cardboard boxes. Might be cheaper, and of course faster. Carry on and store valuables in your good luggage. Also, airlines can differ in free baggage and whatnot.

Boat shipping is cheap, and super slow, and try to select and protect stuff that might be exposed to bad conditions. I haven’t had issues with that.
