“Recruiting Consultant ” Realistic Reviews wanted

I’m looking to get out of teaching, mostly because the pay is just absolutely terrible. One of the options I’ve come across is Apex KK. The last thread I saw on them was from 2019 and I know a lot of stuff has changed since the pandemic and I have recently learned glass-door is not a realistic reflection of companies because of Japanese laws. In the states, I have worked in Tech sales and was an SDR so I’m familiar with the concept of working with metrics and such, but I also know sometimes unrealistic metrics are really common in certain industries. I just want honest good and bad about the job if you know.

Now I’ve seen this job add ALOT, which means high turnover, which is a red flag for me. I’ve already worked for one black company and I’m not looking to work for another.

It’s a boring as fuck job where you have a list of keywords and you search recruitment/resume websites to try to match those keywords up with someone else. Imagine doing a google search 8 hours a day 5 days a week broken up by the occasional form e-mail to someone who looks like they might meet the requirements and an interview to make sure they have the qualifications before you introduce them to the client.

It’s a soul sucking repetitive job trying to play matchmaker between clients and candidates where you’re mostly just trying to make your commission so you get a decent review and get paid.

I’ve heard – I do know I hate dealing with the “let us help you find the right candidate” people who get in touch because I have manager in my job title…

  2. If you have some experience into Tech sales why don’t you try to find a tech related job ? There is plenty of non-technical IT job where you can get a great career and good salaries (for Japan standards of course)
