I’d say best match on the card was Ishii vs White but yano and Okada was a close second
Man, Ishii taking two early losses to White and Taichi, that’s wild.
I was thinking maybe we’d get an Ishii upset over White, but since Ishii vs White wasn’t late for White in the tournament, it was unlikely.
I guess this means Tama is (probably) the only one with a hope of opposing White making Semifinals.
They are building Jay White like a monster. He was immaculate when he beat Okada and now he has beaten Ishii, his kryptonite with almost the same ease. I wonder if Jay is going to the finals, or who is going to pin him (or if they are going to be two or three)
Still early days, but I think B Block is perhaps the most intriguing – logically you wouldn’t expect the champ to make it through the block, but it’s difficult to see Jay losing more than once (especially as he’s already beaten Ishii who Jay has always struggled with). If Tama plays spoiler on the final night, who takes advantage? SANADA might seem most likely, but Jay already has the tiebreaker over him too.
C initially looks difficult to call given the quality, but I think it will just come down to a winner takes all ZSJ vs Naito match.
D is coming down to 2 matches – Shingo vs Juice and Ospreay vs Juice. I think all 3 men win out the rest of their matches (with exception of Juice losing to Finlay).
I honestly think they’ll have Okada go unbeaten in A. First off, everyone knows he’s winning the block anyway. Secondly, having him sweep a smaller block in a year with 4 block winners is easier to pull off from a booking perspective than the usual 2 blocks. Thirdly, he’s already beaten the two biggest threats in the block (Cobb for obvious reasons and Yano from the spoiler perspective). I guarantee Okada doesn’t lose to JONAH, Fale (5 years ago maybe, but not now) or Archer on the final block night. Lawlor is the only possible
