Making the move to Japan as an electrician (advice)

Hello everyone. Not sure if this is the correct sub so apologies in advance if it isn’t.
I’m looking to move to Japan. I’m an electrician by trade with 12-15years experience.
My question is what visa would be the best to get? I don’t have a degree, how does that affect my visa application?
I know I would have to retrain to the Japanese standards, and have a very good knowledge of the language.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

  1. In order to get a work visa, a Japanese company has to sponsor it. In order to work more than 28 hrs/week you must have a work visa. Also I could be wrong, but I’m 90% certain a company will not (possibly cannot?) sponsor your visa unless you have a degree. I was living there for a few years on a work visa. My company hired my husband but only part time because he did not have a degree and they couldn’t sponsor his visa.
