Seeking Advice on if you believe I am qualified enough to move to Japan???

Hello all ,
I am interested in moving to Japan to the point of I am saving up so I can afford myself to go through 2 years of Language School in Japan. I have put alot of research into jobs in Japan and what not but I have my doubts If I am qualified enough to be allowed to stay in the country or if I would struggle to get a VISA giving job in Japan once I would of finished Language School.

So at bit about me is I am 26/M from the United Kingdom , I have a Computer Science related degree which specifes more into the Games Industry and I am currently working for a triple A games company as a QA Technition for coming upto 2 year now. But will be more about 4 years experience by the time I’d have the funds for the move.

I would be interested on carrying on my current role or another role in the Games Industry in Japan but I can quite get a good idea of the sort of jobs avalible over there due to not being able to read the langauge so it hard to navigate there sites and find the information I need. But if its possible but would possibly take some time to get such a job. Would I still be qualified enough to be given opportunities at other companies do you guys think??

Any advice/thoughts would be massively appreciated and if you need any further details just ask away!
Thank you!

Think about the type of communication you’re doing in your current role. Do you think you’d be able to handle the complexities and nuances of those discussions and reports totally in Japanese? For most people, two years of language school would get your language ability to be about on par with Manuel from Fawlty Towers. To get better than that you’re going to need to really bust your ass.

That being said, there are plenty of opportunities for experienced QA people in other industries. Your education and experience should be fine to start looking for those roles today even. Reach out to some recruiters and see if they can find anything interesting for you.
