Bi-Weekly Boss Premium Edition Questions Thread – 14 December 2022

As per usual, feel free to ask any silly stupid questions or not so silly stupid questions that you haven’t had a chance to ask here. Be kind to those that do and try to answer without downvoting. Please keep criticism and snide remarks out of the thread.

  1. My mother is visiting from the US and I’m wondering if I can rent a rakuten pocket wifi on her behalf and have her pick it up at the airport. It’s cheaper than the tourist websites but I’m worried they’ll require id for the pickup.

  2. Maybe better asked in the Gaijinriders Facebook group, but anyone have recommendations on where to go for larger leather race suits? Looking to do some trackdays in 2023! I’m 195cm tall and my local Ricoland didn’t have anything tall and skinny enough for me.

    Thanks!

  3. How rude is it to respond in Japanese when someone is trying to talk to you in not-great English?

  4. Can pocket wifi plans save money when using it with giga light? For instance to cap data use to 3gb step.

  5. Is there somewhere in Tokyo you can rent rooms with a TV or projector for game or movie nights? Something for say 4 people? Thanks!

  6. Has anyone been to “British Hills”? How did you like it?
I’ve just discovered this place and it looks fantastic, they even have a room with 3 snooker tables.

  7. We’re looking at birthing clinics and the ones we called so far don’t allow visitation from the husband after baby is born. Are there any birthing clinics in Tokyo (preferably near Toshima-ku) or Saitama (ranging from Wakoshi to Kawagoe along the Tobu-Tojo line) that allow husbands to visit after the birth? Like even an hour is okay. Doesn’t have to be the entire day visit lol.

I totally understand it’s because of Covid, but even if he’s fully vaxxed and willing to take a PCR before the birth, they still won’t allow him to visit.

Btw, I have plenty of time. I’m only 7 weeks, so no worries there. I’m all ears for suggestions!
