Anyone know of good ajisai spots near Tokyo/Kanagawa area?

Hi guys. Am a fan of ajisais blooming in this season and wanted to know if ppl here knew good spots for them. Hopefully not too crowded as I don’t want to disappoint Yuriko-chan. I hear Kamakura got some nice temples but it seems like some of them are closed due to Covid.
TIL: I didn’t know the [reason](https://twitter.com/japansplain/status/1399995007801597952?s=20) behind why they had so much ajisai in these temples in the first place but it’s pretty somber

  1. You can always visit Hakone.

Odawara castle has hydrangeas and you can take the Tozan train up the mountain during the day or night and see them along the way.

At night we have the special hydrangea at night train. Normally the train slows down to view the lit up hydrangeas. Due to coronavirus the trains will run as normal without slowing or stopping to take photos but the flowers will be lit up for viewing.

  2. Meigetuin Temple is famous for ajisai. Hasedera Temple is also good.

  3. I would recommend Minamisawa Ajisai Yama in Akirunoshi. 南沢あじさい山 in Japanese.

There is a hiking trail from JR Musashi Itsukaichi station and you get to see many of them while you are hiking. Not crowded and the best season is Mid-June to Mid July.

They would look very beautiful after raining but the road would be muddy so you have to be careful when walking.

I have found the website listing up all good spots for Ajisai in Tokyo/Kanagawa/Saiatama/Chiba area (kanto area)

Hope you get to go after the state of emergency is lifted!
