I need to connect an stove, oven, microwave, refridgerator, kettle in an LDK with three outlets. What are my choices?

I am currently looking at extentions and my choices seem limited. Looks like I am limited to sub 1500 per extention per outlet. Is that pretty much my only choice?

From what I gather exentions are fine so long as I do not exceed the 1500w. Im guessing that each outlet with two sockets is only capable of 1500w total per outlet not per socket.

Any help or advice appreciated.

  1. You should look at the electrical panel and find out that (most likely) all 3 outlets are on the same 15A circuit anyway, and turning on microwave + kettle at same time will trip it. And yeah, a dual outlet would be sharing 1500W load.

  2. Each circuit is capable of 1500w total. Each socket is rated for max 1200w. As a guess, the sockets in your kitchen belong to the same circuit (it’s usually one circuit per room) so you can’t draw more than ~1400w in total at the same time.

And yes, this means that you may not be able to run, say, an oven and a microwave oven at the same time. If you have an electric stove you may not be able to have anything else running at the same time.

Also note that if you plan to get a real IH stove with multiple heaters, you need a separate 200v outlet and usually at least 60A total in the apartment. If you don’t already have it, things get expensive fast.
