I think some people call them “driving boot camp” schools in English.
Essentially I do not have the budget to go to a driving school (30man, what the actual) but I have been reading a lot about 合宿. They seem much more doable cost-wise and the idea that you can get the license fairly quickly is also appealing.
Anyone in Japan get their license from these, or know anyone who did? I’m not limited by area (because there are none in Hokkaido so whatever I do I have to get on a plane or train haha) so recommendations welcome! Especially for 合宿 that can offer the paper tests and book materials in English (spoken Japanese is no problem but I am an excruciatingly slow Japanese reader).
