   70% of westerners disrespecting Hirooki “Daddy G” Goto again. Then act surprised when he delivers like the NEVER Hair vs Hair against Suzuki at WK12.

   I’m glad they don’t bloat the main card for the sake of doing so even if I enjoy mocking Gedo at r/ishii because Ishii doesnt get a singles match at the dome. Because that’s how a one day card should be.

   I’d also like to get the point across that YOU DON’T have to be a fan of this card at all, you can criticise it, but at the very least be practical because all the criticisms are made by people not following the product or just mad that “Big name isn’t on main card” for the sake of being on it.

7. Shrugs – I only watch NJPW and hate AEW and I think this Wrestle Kingdom is below average on paper.

   When people are pissed Shingo, ELP, Cobb, Okhan, Taichi, etc aren’t on the main card and Naito/Tana are in a 6 man they probably aren’t AEW zealots.

8. REEEEEEEEEE why didn’t New Japan disregard their own talent and bring in even more guys from AEW like Moxley, Danielson, and Jericho!? Just disregard the fact that there’s an actual PPV that serves as a super show for both companies where a lot of these talent will likely appear, Gedo didn’t book their biggest show of the year the way that I would have!

12. No card will satisfy everyone. Believe it or not, sometimes wresting fans can be a little reactionary. For example, I like the card but Naito is once again not in the main event so I’m dead inside! :’)

13. I honestly really like the card of Wk17 from what it’s looking like right now. I will be there to watch it (coming in from Germany) and for me it’s such a great and amazing card and I’m really excited for every match. Yes I would have liked aussie open but that’s because they are my favorite tag team but bishamon makes sense and yes I would have liked Ace Austin and Chris Bey but Lio and Yoh just makes sense and was to be expected and I think all the matches on the card will be at least good.

15. It’s just as embarrassing to see western fans feel the need to defend Gedo booking for Japanese audiences. Literally why would FTR and Kenny be on this show if not to appeal to westerners? Why does it matter at all?

    Either watch the show or don’t, who they’re booking for is a meaningless discussion.

16. I think it’s a great card! Apart from Yoshi-Hashi. I changed my mind on Taichi but I just can’t get behind Yoshi-Hashi. Give me Goto/Ishii tag team or Goto/Yano or Goto soloing the tag team division but no, I just can’t stand Yoshi-Hashi.

19. I don’t know what everybody’s talking about, I got exactly what I and every other WatoManiac was looking for.

20. We can all say what we want about the card. But let’s not forget Gedo is well known for swerving expectations with the matches. So even if this is the 50th anniversary show and a tribute to Inoki, Gedo can still surprise us with the results of the card. The rest is up to the wrestlers to give us a really good showing regardless of who wins.

22. I just wanna see Jay win a WK main event or at least have a decent run with the title. Doesn’t matter which one and it only has to be one of them. I want everyone to breathe with the Switchblade just once.

23. As a very casual fan, this card looks fine to me. A shame about Shingo being so low on the card, but i have faith that his day will come again. Absolutely gonna watch WK.

27. I’m totally cool with the card, actually quite excited for it.

    For me, my only issue is with the main event. We’ve seen it quite a few times so I’m kinda burnt out on that matchup. But I know it’ll still be a classic none the less.

    Would’ve loved some of the guys who never got a solid chance to be the one to take the belt off of Jay. Would love a Sanada, Goto or Ishii run!

28. I don’t see how the one-day wrestle kingdom card could possibly be improved.

    Yes lots of people are stuck in the Rambo, but given it’s one night I can’t suggest any changes to the card that make any kind of sense.
