Spending 3 weeks in and than 3 weeks out of Japan for the few months. Back and forth a few times. Entering as a visitor so no work visa. Which I assume means no softbank or docomo etc.
I can get one of those BIC Camera or Yodabashi sim cards but they do not allow roaming outside of the country.
Curious if there is a sim/solution that would allow me to receive two factor authentication SMSs from Japan while in the US. Mostly so that I can continue to use my Japanese services and payment apps like PayPay etc while out of Japan.
Appreciate any insight!

Might like to note that the PayPay app doesn’t work outside of Japan (geo-blocking).
Rakuten Unlimited VII(?) is what I use and I am using it right now for roaming in Germany.
Not sure if it works in the US as well but they have a list of countries on their website. Might be worth it to check that one out
