Hi everyone!
I’m in the process of creating a Goodnotes digital notebook to keep all of my Japanese learning in one place. One part of the notebook is for noting down kanji as I learn them, with separate sections for each JLPT level. I haven’t gotten very far into N5 but I know there isn’t official set kanji for each level. However, for the sake of the notebook I’m creating, how many *new* kanji would you say there is for each level?

According to some lists it’s roughly something like
N5 – 80
N4 – 156
N3 – 370
N2 – 370
N1 – 1240
Just go by frequency lists, you can decide on your divisions so it’ll be easier to organise and won’t involve guessing
