Hi everyone!
I’m currently planning a solo trip to Japan from the 13th of May until the 15th of June. I have a shortlist of places I want to visit and I have a rough idea of the route i will take.
I came across an event on the 19th of May that I’d like to attend: Uchiwa-maki at Toshidai-ji Temple in Nara. ([link](https://narashikanko.or.jp/en/event/uchiwamaki_tousyoudaiji/)). If anyone is familiar with this event, can I as a foreigner participate in the event in trying to catch a fan? The last thing I want is to intrude on a custom that I should not be a part of, so I’d like to know for sure if it’s okay to participate.

Since I was already planning to visit Nara, I came up with plan for the first week in order to be able to be in Nara by the 19th of May, while taking time for things along the route.
**13th of May:**
Landing at Narita Airport @ 13:15.
Checking in at [Ito Ryokan, Tokyo](https://itoryokan.jp/en/) around 15:00 (or later depending on business at the airport/public transport).
Eating somewhere close to the Ryokan
**14th and 15th of May:**
No concrete plans, take it easy due to likely jetlag, leisurely exploring Tokyo
**16th of May:**
Check out early
Travel to Hakone (likely via Shinkansen to Odawara and taking a local train from there), buy the Free Pass and start the Hakone Round Course.
Stay in Hakone for the night (no accommodationyet, but will book one soon)
**17th of May:**
Finish the Hakone Round Course, take local train to Odawara
Take Shinkansen to Hamamatsu
Spend the rest of the day (what’s left of it) in Hamamatsu and stay the night
**18th of May:**
Check out early, take Shinkansen to Nagoya
Visit Ghibli Park, Toyota Automobile Museum and the Higashiyama Sky Tower
In the evening, take the Shinkasen to Osaka and check into accommodation
**19th of May:**
Travel to Nara early in the morning (try to be there before 9:00)
Spend the day in Nara and attend the Uchiwa-maki event.
My main question is whether this itinerary for the first week is feasible and adviceable. If I failed to consider something, please let me know!
Thank you for your time!
