Tokyo rough 4 day itinerary January 7th

Hey guys, been doing some research on the sub. My wife and I are starting our honeymoon in Tokyo before flying to Thailand.

Would appreciate and criticisms and suggestions.

Day 1: Jan 7
-Fly into NRT 4pm
– check into hotel century south tower Shibuya City
– maybe explore a little in the area
– made reservations at the New York Grill (seems a little silly as we’re flying from NYC, but it’s one of the few good places with reservations. We’re also fans of lost in translation, Jazz music and want to try Kobe beef)
– Maybe hit a bar on our way back, thinking about making a reservation at Ben Fiddich.

Day 2:
– breakfast sushi at Tsukiji outer market. Would appreciate any restaurant suggestions.
– walk over to Teamlab planet (how early should I book this)
– maybe has some Monja on the way back if we’re hungry
– walk to Hamarikyu park and catch the ferry to Asakusa.
– check out kaminarimon gate and Senso-Ji
– have some beer at Asahi group head office building
– grab dinner somewhere, maybe golden gai

Day 3:
-Go to Kamakura and explore (how early do I need train tickets)
– do I need tickets early for any of the temples there
– maybe go to golden gai when we get back

Day 4:
– imperial palace tour
– sumo wrestling tournament
– sushi and Nishiazabu Taku
– maybe hit some bars after

Day 5 :
Flight out from HND

Trying not to over book. Have a bunch of stuff saved in Google maps that we might explore if we’re near or in the mood.

Pardon any spelling error.

Thanks!

Same day tickets are usually available, so wouldn’t worry too much about it. If the date is set, you can book now or when you land. But it’s usually not necessary. January 8 is a Sunday, so it might be quicker to book ahead.

    >Go to Kamakura and explore (how early do I need train tickets)

There’s no way to book tickets for the local trains. The seats are not assigned, so sit if there’s room. If you want a seat, you can get a green car ticket, which you buy on the platform or before entering through the gates. I’ve never bought green tickets, so maybe Google it.

    >do I need tickets early for any of the temples there –

Nope, most of the temple grounds are free to enter, if there’s a fee, you pay on the spot. Some temples you can enter to a certain point. To see if some have tours (or other parties have tours) you can check the websites. The great Buddha statue require an entry fee, but this is paid on the spot.

Seems like a good plan. Maybe check out Shibuya Sky at some point, since your hotel is in the area.
