I have some Amazon JP GC balance, but most of what I need is either cheaper in local stores, or Amazon only has from sketchy Chinese “brands”. What are some things on there you’ve found are a good deal?
Usually amazon is cheaper if you know what to look for. Don’t do a generic search but search for the actual item you want.
Gold Standard whey protein is cheaper than Costco.
there are no “good deals” on Amazon if you are trying to buy some cheap shitty gadget that is neat.
Used books, even the “acceptable” condition ones, are in OK condition and can be quite cheap at times. 1000 yen for a hardcover comic book? Heck yeah, let’s go!
Pretty much all I buy are bulk drinks, dog rope toys, and various electronics. Everything else can be easily found at Daiso.
Some websites accept Amazon Pay so you could use the balance outside Amazon. Demaecan accepts it so I’ve used up some credit/points getting food delivered.
Bulk items. I usually buy my coffee on there. The 100-packs of those Doutour coffee packs are super cheap.
Weights and some exercise equipment. Got a 20kg kettlebell for around 3500yen, which I thought was a steal.
I like the White Horse 4 liter PET bottles of whiskey. They’re too big to buy in a regular store.
Things I have bought on Amazon Japan recently. White rice, brown rice, espresso, protein bars, granola bars, protein shake mix, a snorkel for a weekend trip, adidas sneakers, cosmetics, shikwasa(case), tansan(case), vitamins, a television, a Christmas tree, an osprey hiking backpack, a laptop stand, RJ45 cable, snow pants, a desk, a watch strap, and probably some other weird stuff I can’t think of.
Shoes are probably on the one thing I will continue to look for on Amazon. I wear a size 29 and not all stories carry this size.
Amazon is sometimes the most convenient option when you live in a city without a car.
Mostly – Mouth wash, Shampoo, Fruit Tea, Suppliments, Soap, Veet, Washing machine tabs, and other house hold products.

Edit: I found a list of sites that accept Amazon Pay [here](https://pay.amazon.co.jp/blog/amazon-pay-%E3%81%8C%E4%BD%BF%E3%81%88%E3%82%8B%E4%BA%BA%E6%B0%97-ec%E3%82%B5%E3%82%A4%E3%83%88%E3%82%92%E6%8E%A2%E3%81%9D%E3%81%86%EF%BC%81).
