I’ve been following this sub very closely as Japan has slowly reopened to foreign travelers, and it has been incredibly helpful in building our honeymoon itinerary. So, for that, thank you! I’m all about “pay it forward,” so there will be a trip report once we’re back. I’ve found those most helpful.
I’m now coming out of the woodwork as I’m now officially struggling to finalize the itinerary for our trip. We live in NYC, so it’s noted that there’s an incredible amount of sprawl, travel time isn’t a finger snap, etc. Our main goal is to try and appreciate Japanese culture in whatever its forms might take. To us, this means we love to visit a neighborhood with a couple of ‘must-see’ attractions and wander as much as we can (i.e., walking doesn’t scare us). As this is our honeymoon we’re indulging in a couple of comforts when it comes to transfers, dinners, etc. Any restaurant called out below includes a firm reservation and cannot be moved. Rough itinerary is below. Feel free to make suggestions on timing, schedule, etc.

* Transfer to hotel via hotel car service / Hotel in Otemachi
* Explore area around hotel, potential to wander to Ginza. Dinner either around Tokyo Station/Ginza depending on how far we make it.
* Try and stay awake for a drink in Ginza.

* We’re going to play dinners by ear, but we’ve marked Bar Barunba, Bar Gyu+, Bang Bang, and Toshiro’s Bar as places we want to check out. Luckily we know a couple here and will be going off of their recommendations, but would happily take anything you can recommend!
