* I am traveling with 2 friends to Japan in late January and we are open to any recommendations/suggestions. We are all foodies (so we’d love to hear all the restaurant recs) and 2 of us are into anime.
* I have been to Japan a few times before, but my friends have never been, so we’d like to explore different aspects of Japanese culture!
Itinerary
* Day 1 (Sunday): Tokyo
* Arrive in Tokyo (late in the afternoon)
* Pick-up portable wifi and JR Pass
* Looking for recommendations for what to do for the rest of the day since we’re only staying the night
* Day 2 (Monday): Osaka
* Shinkansen to Osaka early in the morning
* Osaka Castle
* Dotonburi
* Kuromon Market
* Shinsaibashisuji
* Day 3 (Tuesday): Nara
* Nara Park
* Todai-Ji
* Looking for other recs to do/eat in Nara to fill out the day
* Day 4/5(Weds/Thursday): Kyoto
* Nijo Castle
* Nishiki market
* Kyoto imperial palace
* Kiyomizudera
* Ginkakuji
* Fushimi Inari Shrine
* Arashiyama bamboo grove
* Uji for matcha (Potential)
* Day 6(Friday): Kanazawa
* Kanazawa Castle
* Kenroku-En Garden
* We want to visit shirakawa-go, but we’re not sure if it’d fit in the schedule and where to stay. Are the ryokans foreigner friendly and looking for recs for potential ryokans
* Day 7(Saturday): Nagano/Takayama
* Looking for recs on this day, we want to make 1 more stop before making our way back to Tokyo
* Potentially seeing snow monkeys at Jigokudani
* Open for other suggestions
* Day 8/9/10/11(Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Weds): Tokyo
* Sensoji temple
* Toyoushu market
* Day trip to hakone/Mount Fuji
* DisneySea
* 1 out of Skytree, Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Sky. Would like to hear thoughts
* Akihabara
* Maybe another day trip from Tokyo, thinking about Yokohama, Kamakura, Enoshima, or Nikko
