Visa question: please help me out

I’m in a bit of a bind here, so I’d appreciate it if you could help me out.

I used to work as an ALT, so I have an Instructor visa that expires in three months. When I left that job, I went to work at an international school and they basically told me that I can work there with my visa. I also sent a notification to the immigration office that I’d switched jobs.

Recently, I landed a new ALT job but they can’t proceed with my application because I’m on the wrong visa while working at the international school and should be on the Humanities visa.

I’m not sure what to do at this point. I want to leave my job desperately and I’m waiting to hear from another job that requires an Instructor visa.

Does anyone know how I should proceed from here?

  1. The new ALT place cared that you were working at an international school on an instructor visa but that you were really supposed to be on a hummanities visa?

    That seems odd.

I don’t think you need to disclose visa status to prospective employers and even then, you could say you will handle the changes and renewal process on your own if they give you an offer and agree to fill out the company portion of the paperwork.

  2. If you work at an elementary, junior high or high school, you should be on an instructor visa.

Was this international school a preschool?
