Building a traditional Japanese home in the forest of Colombia – Architectural inspiration?

Hello,

I love the concepts of Japanese traditional residential architecture and was so inspired by the Kennin-ji Temple 建仁寺方丈 in Kyoto that I am planning on building a home containing come of these elements here outside of Medellin, Colombia.

Are there any architects past or present you can point me to that incorporate beautiful traditional concepts and forms with a modern touch (not overly modern).

I would very much appreciate it. I have been building a board on Pinterest for my architect here in Medellin, but I would like to study some Japanese architects and their work fo more inspiration.

Thanks so much [here is my interest if you’re curious](https://co.pinterest.com/ledstriplights/house/)
