Hello! Heading to Japan for the last week of March/first week of April. It’s my second time there (first time alone!), and I’m doing what may be a bit of a basic trip, but ultimately my specific goal when I travel is to “live” in the place I’m visiting as much as possible, so I’d like to try and do that this time in Japan as I was unable to do that on my last trip. The rough outline is Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto (and surrounding areas) and then back to Tokyo. Also worth mentioning that every hotel I’m staying in has an onsen or massive bath.
Also worth noting, I’m going to be seeing cherry blossoms everywhere. Visiting parks, etc.
**Day 1** – Flying into Haneda, I’m staying near Asakusa, and I just learned that the weekend I get there, AnimeJapan is happening, soooo…after resting the afternoon I get in (and exploring Asakusa if I can’t easily rest yet due to jet lag) probably going to try and…
**Day 2** – Go to AnimeJapan (still trying to figure out tickets, I’ll get there). Anyone who has been, or to similar conventions in Japan, that have any tips I’d greatly appreciate it.
**Day 3** – Kita City, Ikebukuro
**Day 4** – Akihabara, go over to Glitch Coffee and maybe see some of Chiyoda.
**Day 5** – Hakone! Got a nice place with a private onsen up in the forest so…off the grid for a solid 24 hours.
**Day 6** – on to Kyoto. I’ve already seen Fushimi Inari, but I’m really wanting to go back. So I’m going to do the whole Kyoto tourist thing this day.
**Day 7** – Nara, I never did that. Gonna get bit by some deer.
**Day 8** – Osaka, I never did that. Gonna get bit by some deer (I assume).
**Day 9** – I know this will be tough, but I’m going to try to wake up super early and make it out to Hiroshima
and Miyajima. Since I’ll be alone I think I’ll be able to manage it with minimal issue.
**Day 10** – Visiting some old shops I was in last time in Kyoto, Kiyamachi Dori, all in all just relaxing.
**Day 11** – Back to Tokyo, this time staying in Shibuya. This is the day shopping starts. I’m only traveling *to*
Tokyo with a carry-on, and I’m buying baggage there (Tokyu Hands has nice basic suitcases) to go shopping. So…possibly back to Akihabara.
**Day 12** – Enoshima in the morning, stop in Yokohama.
**Day 13** – Disney Sea, Bar Albatross in the evening.
**Day 14** – Shimo-Kitazawa, Nakameguro
**Day 15** – Back home.
I’d really love some smaller, lesser known places, off the beaten path ideas to slot in. I really appreciate this sub and check it often, so I appreciate you all looking at this.
