I am relatively new to Japanese learning. I know Hiragana and Katakana, and have just started using Wanikani to pick up the basics of Kanji.
My daily routine at the minute is the lessons and reviews on Wanikani, and using Tofugu’s Hiragana/Katakana test to practice those.
But I feel like I am at a weird stage where I am learning Kanji when I still don’t know how to say even the most basic of phrases. What is the best way to supplement Wanikani at this stage?

I think it’s best to look at it the other way around. Wanikani should be a supplement to learning vocab and grammar. You can either learn for textbooks or just keep adding vocab to your SRS app of choice and look up grammar points along the way. I personally prefer the genki route but it’s up to what suits you best!
