Kishida and his “new capitalism”

I’ve been out of Japan for a few months now, but last time I was home – Kishida was talking about his investment-based new capitalism. Regardless, most of my colleagues and friends are saying that nothing much’s happened on that front. Japan’s still pretty much stuck in inflation, and that the rise in prices has reduced consumption proportionally effecting the economy.

For those of you who are particularly knowledgable about the Japanese economy, and whatever moves Kishida has been making towards his so-called “new capitalism” – is there any tangible improvement from an economic perspective under Kishida?
